Fred Boyle

Fred Boyle

EE + web conversations

Fred has always enjoyed figuring out technology and have gotten good at discovering how things work. He brings a pretty well-stocked tool box to the nGen garage, with experience in programming, servers, networks and strategy. He was the first Canadian nGeneer, a distinction that he thought made him the coolest, at least temperature-wise.

Stephen Lewis

Stephen Lewis

Profitable Add-on Development

Prior to setting up Experience, I spent 6 years designing and building websites for some of the most demanding clients in the world — Mercedes-Benz and the Cabinet Office, to name but two. Big names look great on the CV, but I missed the hands-on satisfaction of being a significant, active contributor to a client’s success, so I girded my loins, and started my own business. Since then, I’ve made a positive, measurable difference to dozens of small and medium sized businesses. I’ve also managed to pick up a few awards along the way.

Mark Huot

Mark Huot

Developing in EE2, or How to Use CodeIgniter

Mark Huot develops content management systems ranging in size from personal blogging tools to enterprise-scale e-commerce systems. Adhering to web standards throughout his development process, Mark creates intuitive systems that demonstrate the same kind of care and forethought present in Happy Cog’s visual and structural designs. Mark’s past projects include large-scale editorial management systems that helped clients make a seamless transition from print to the web. On the side, he enjoys tinkering with Flash and JavaScript and is a co-creator of swfIR, a client-side image replacement technique.

Mark graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA with a BS degree in Digital Media. There he learned web standards and took a class using Jeffrey Zeldman’s Designing with Web Standards as a textbook. He has been passionate ever since about creating systems that adhere to the strict standards Happy Cog has put forth.

Paul Burton

Paul Burton

Don't call me a freelancer!

Sixteen years ago, an idealistic, untested illustrator entered the creative workforce. Fast forward to 2011, add a burgeoning collection of grey hair, latent lactose intolerance, a heaping dash of salt - yet the same idealism - and you have the creative heart behind 16toads Design. An aging dude who goes by the nom de tweet @16toads. Working to appease clients big and not-so-big, Mr. Toad has been mucking around in the trenches of design for well over a decade now. He has also managed to balance on his rickety soapbox long enough to create stopworkforhire.com and thevileplutocrat.com. Along the way, he has made some good friends and a few loco compadres who affectionately refer to him as, "the award-winning" Paul Burton.

Who stole my trophy? Kenny?
